“The Granddaddy” is the oldest course on the Grand Strand. It was designed by architect Robert White, the first president of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America and a co-founder of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. In 1954,we became the birthplace of Sports Illustrated when a group of 67 employees of Time-Life met there and the executives outlined plans for the magazine.
